Beijing 2008 XXIX Olympiad & the Chinese Economy – China Truly Rising
For 4 hours of 8th August 2008, everyone round the globe stood in awe of the passion, pride, power on a very magnificent opening ceremony of the XXIX Olympiad .
Amidst the sound of thunderous Chinese drums, Chinese artistry, portraying the ancient arts of Chinese Calligraphy, Printing, Marine-faring and abilities in intricate display of mangle of modern human ingenuity and technological presentation which cost the Beijing organizers a sensational $47 billion.
What initially thought to be Impossible is, now indeed, Nothing. Yes, Impossible is Nothing , setting a new benchmark for future Olympiad organizers.
The intended implied message of such spectacular display can only be construed as China is Ready for the World. The amalgamation of 204 nations and 16,000 athletes is the ultimate message of China’s intention to tell the world that the Chinese are ready for the world, be it in sports or otherwise.
China’s transformation, with its rich cultural, Confucianistic roots, and immense military strength, is telling the world that it is determined to be, if not already, an economic force to be contend with in the 21st century.
Since China opened its doors to the world during the rule of Deng Xiao Peng in the 1980’s, it is seen to have transformed itself from an agricultural country into one of the world’s mammoth manufacturers with its extensive industrialization drive.
So, Is China Truly and Finally Rising? The answer is Yes .
The next question is harder to answer - Is China Really Ready for the World?
